Well sort of.
It didn't snow, but it sure is cold.  Friday will most likely be the coldest ski day of the year.  It is time to dig deep into the closet and break out the old Le Mask.  Suddenly the latest style that has the grommits dressing up as robbers from a cowboy movie by wearing bandanas across their faces seems practical.  A less practical style during this cold will be wearing your pants around your ankles, a style that I still don't understand even in warm conditions.  The word of the day is "windshield".  The windshield is how cold it feels when taking into account the blustery winds.

The cold weather and blowing wind brings variable conditions.  The groomers are excellent.  Off piste you can find generally firm, but edgeable terrain with pockets of blown snow and in some spots a grippable chalky surface.  Look out for areas of very firm snow and crust especially on sun affected aspects.  However, all things considered, there isn't that much actual ice on the hill.  Even though we see no snow in the forecast, the cold conditions are helping us retain the snow we have.
